APC Presents ₦100m Presidential Forms to Faleke for Tinubu
BREAKING: APC Presents ₦100m Presidential Forms to Faleke for Tinubu
Member of the House of Representatives and founder of the Tinubu Support Group, Hon. James Faleke, on Tuesday formally received the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Faleke was handed the forms by officials of the ruling party at the Abuja Continental Hotel, venue of the APC’s ongoing sale of nomination forms ahead of the party primaries scheduled for next month.
The development officially signals the commencement of President Tinubu’s second-term campaign within the APC and positions him as the first major aspirant to complete the presidential nomination process since the party opened sales of forms.
The APC presidential forms cost a total of ₦100 million, broken down into ₦30 million for the Expression of Interest form and ₦70 million for the Nomination form. Party officials said the exercise forms part of preparations for the APC presidential primary slated for May 2026.
Although the process eventually commenced on Tuesday morning, it had earlier generated controversy and confusion within political circles following reports that APC governors and political allies had taken over the responsibility of procuring forms for preferred aspirants.
There had also been widespread speculation over whether state governments and political interest groups were financing the nomination process for President Tinubu.

Sources within the ruling party confirmed that several pro-Tinubu support groups and political stakeholders had contributed funds toward the purchase of the forms, including political actors linked to the Kogi State Government.
However, despite the involvement of multiple groups, the APC officially presented the forms to Hon. Faleke at exactly 1:15 p.m. in Abuja.
Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State, is regarded as one of President Tinubu’s closest political allies and has played a major role in coordinating grassroots mobilization and campaign structures for the president over the years.
Speaking shortly after receiving the forms, APC officials described Tinubu as the party’s “consensus symbol of continuity,” insisting that the president remains the preferred choice of the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party leadership also defended the high cost of nomination forms, arguing that the fees were necessary to manage the large number of aspirants and sustain the party’s electoral activities nationwide.
According to the APC timetable, the sale of forms will close on May 2, while submission of completed forms is expected to end on May 4. Screening of presidential aspirants has been fixed for May 9, with appeals scheduled for May 12 and 13.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier announced that the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, 2027.
Political observers say the early acquisition of the nomination forms underscores the APC leadership’s determination to consolidate support for President Tinubu well ahead of the party’s presidential convention.
The move also comes amid increasing endorsements for the president from APC governors, federal lawmakers, ministers, and party stakeholders across the country, many of whom have publicly backed Tinubu for a second term despite growing economic and security concerns in parts of the country.
