Bobrisky: FG suspends four top prison officials
The Nigerian government has suspended four high-ranking officials of the Correctional Service following allegations of misconduct related to cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky.
This came after an audio recording surfaced online, indicating that Bobrisky, while serving a six-month prison sentence, was given unauthorized access to an apartment outside the correctional facility.
Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), announced the suspension in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja.
The probe into the allegations was initiated by Interior Minister Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo on Wednesday.
Ahmed stated, “Following the viral video trending on social media on alleged infractions by Officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service relating to Mr. Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has suspended forthwith the following senior officers of the Service.”
