BREAKING: Kano emirate: Court declares jurisdiction to hear Ado Bayero case

In a recent ruling, Justice Liman Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Kano State declared that dethroned Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, has the right to be heard in court.

This decision comes shortly after a Kano State High Court ordered substituted service on Bayero and four other emirs, in a case filed by the Kano State Government to prevent them from parading themselves as emirs.

The ruling signifies a significant development in the ongoing legal battle surrounding the traditional leadership in Kano. The case brought by the state government seeks to restrain Bayero and the other emirs from claiming their titles and performing any related duties.

The outcome of this case will be closely watched, as it holds substantial implications for the traditional leadership structure in Kano and the broader governance of the region. As the legal proceedings continue, the court’s final judgment will likely impact the balance of power and the future of the traditional emirates in Kano State.
