Dr Sani Manyahaya has been named as the sixth substantive rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State.
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Manyahaya, according to a statement by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Sola Lawal, made available on Wednesday in Osogbo.
His appointment appointment letter was signed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, the statement added.
It also stated that the appointment took effect from November 21, 2022, and would run for a single term of five years in line with Federal Polytechnic Act 2019 as amended.

Manyahaya, who is the immediate past Deputy Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, attended Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, where he obtained B.Eng. in Computer Engineering in 1994, and Msc in Telecommunications Engineering in 2008 at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Ph.D in Wireless and Control Engineering in 2004, at the same institution.
He joined the service of Federal Polytechnic, Bida, in 1996 and served in various capacities before he became Chief Lecturer at the institution.
The statement enjoined all members of staff and students of the institution to give the new rector all the necessary assistance and cooperation to enable him to carry out his duty effectively.
