Senate President, Godswill Akpabio
Cleric predicts gang-up plot to unseat Senate President Akpabio
Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a stark warning to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, predicting a potential move within the Senate to remove him from his position.
The cleric attributed the brewing discontent to Akpabio’s public statements, which Ayodele suggests may cause internal friction and tarnish the Senate’s reputation.
In a video shared on his social media, Ayodele explained that Akpabio’s remarks have already begun to foster disrespect within the Senate.
“Akpabio will make the current Senate be disrespected,” Ayodele stated, suggesting that those within the chamber who represent “the voice of the people” are growing increasingly frustrated with his conduct.

The cleric went further, claiming that Akpabio’s leadership might lead to division within the Senate. “There will be segregation in the Senate which will be on account of Akpabio’s incompetence,” Ayodele warned, cautioning that this disunity could spiral into an outright attempt to unseat him.
Ayodele concluded by predicting that Akpabio’s handling of Senate affairs may provoke a “rowdy session,” indicating the potential for disruptive disagreements ahead.
“Akpabio will cause trouble for his own removal,” Ayodele asserted, remarking that while the Senate’s power remains largely symbolic under Akpabio’s leadership, internal tensions are mounting.
This warning adds to the recent scrutiny of Akpabio’s leadership as he navigates the challenges of maintaining unity and respect in Nigeria’s legislative body.
