Crisis rocks LP as Edo youths attack 2 members loyal to Apapa [VIDEO]

The crisis rocking the national leadership of the Labour Party (LP) surfaced in Benin City, Edo State on Friday as two ‘officials’ of the party identified as Anslem Eragbe and another whose identity could not be confirmed at the time of filing this report were seen in a viral video being beaten by some group of people in an unknown location but houses and vehicles could be sighted.

According to an X user, @TheSerahIbrahim, she claimed Edo youths had attacked and beat up the Labour Party faction members including the party’s factional youth leader, Eragbe Anslem.

Serah said in her post that the factional Labour Party members were attacked, beaten and hospitalised for allegedly defrauding youths in an attempt to hold the party’s governorship primary election in the state for the coming gubernatorial election.

Eragbe, who was earlier suspended by the Abure-led faction was seen dressed in white apparel and mercilessly beaten by about five people on the ground.

Some of his attackers were seen hitting him with their legs and other items with his clothes torn and leaving him with a stained top and underwear, another victim in a blue dress was seen sitting on the ground gesticulating with some people standing around him.

It was gathered that they were in Benin to implement the timetable allegedly released by the Lamidi Apapa faction of the LP which was planning to organise a meeting to elect delegates to participate in their primary election.

A voice could be heard in the background shouting “una get mind enter Benin” repeatedly.
