Dangote Refinery Supplies 32 Million Litres of Petrol in December — NMDPRA
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has supplied 32.02 million litres of petrol to the Nigerian market in December 2025, according to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). The development marks a significant boost in domestic petrol supply and underscores the refinery’s growing role in reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported fuel.
The NMDPRA data revealed that Dangote’s output increased steadily from previous months, helping the country maintain ample petrol stocks and improving overall fuel availability across states. Analysts say the increase will also contribute to stabilising pump prices nationwide.

Despite the rise in domestic supply, Nigeria continues to import petrol in large quantities. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and other marketers reportedly imported about 1.56 billion litres of petrol in November 2025, highlighting ongoing dynamics in the downstream petroleum sector.
The refinery’s management has also dismissed claims of production disruptions, assuring that operations remain stable and uninterrupted, with daily production levels previously reported between 40 million and 50 million litres.
Industry watchers note that increased domestic refining is critical for fuel security, reducing logistics challenges, and cushioning the economy against foreign exchange fluctuations. Dangote Refinery’s growing contribution demonstrates Nigeria’s potential to achieve self-sufficiency in petrol supply in the coming years.
