The Ebonyi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of schools in affected areas following a deadly attack that left residents shaken and raised serious security concerns.

The directive, announced on Monday, applies to primary and secondary schools in communities impacted by the violence, as authorities move to protect students, teachers and school staff from further harm. The government said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure pending an improvement in the security situation.

According to officials, the attack claimed lives and triggered panic in nearby communities, prompting urgent consultations between the state government and security agencies. While investigations are ongoing, authorities said the safety of children and educators remains the top priority.
