Eight family members die in Imo auto crash
Eight members of a family have died in an auto accident in Imo State.
The accident occurred on Friday at the Amanwozuzu Junction in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
Lucky Ahiole, the divisional police officer (DPO) in charge of the Ikeduru LGA, confirmed the development.
He said the accident which occurred at about 3pm resulted in the death of all eight persons in a Toyota Sienna car conveying the family.
He said the Sienna vehicle collided with a stationary truck conveying rods, leading to the death of the victims.
“Eight died and we have taken them to a morgue,” the DPO said.
He added, “We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies.”
