Elon Musk unveils Grokipedia to compete with Wikipedia
Elon Musk, the visionary behind xAI, announced the launch of Grokipedia v0.1 early Tuesday morning.
The AI-driven encyclopedia, powered by xAIās Grok AI, is being touted as a revolutionary alternative to the long-standing Wikipedia, with the tech billionaire boldly claiming it outperforms its predecessor even in its initial beta phase.
āVersion 1.0 will be 10X better, but even at 0.1, itās better than Wikipedia imo,ā Musk posted on X.
The launch directed users to the open-source site where version 0.1 went live. The platform features over 800,000 articles generated by Grok and integrated with real-time data from X, according to Musk.

However, the rollout was not without hiccups. The site experienced a brief crash when accessed by our reporterĀ due to overwhelming traffic, but has since stabilised.
Grokipedia adapts some content from Wikipedia under a Creative Commons licence while aiming to purge perceived biases through an evidence- and physics-based rewriting processāMusk teased in September before delaying the launch to refine its approach.
