DSS Operatives
A father, Godwin Okon Udoh, has cried out for help over the alleged detention of his daughter, Joy, by operatives of the Department of State Services since November 8, 2021.
The distraught father made the call in an appeal of Civil and Human Rights Organisations, dated April 11, 2022.
In the letter, titled: “PLEASE HELP ME AND SAVE MY INNOCENT DAUGHTER FROM THE DSS OPERATIVES,” Udoh said his 20-year-old daughter had not been charged to court since her arrest.
He also said his activist daughter had been denied access not only to her family members but also lawyers.
He wrote: “I have a serious problem concerning my biological daughter Godwin Joy Udoh, She an activist who was abducted by the DSS operatives since 8 November 2021 in Enugu state, but very sad that till today she has not been charged to court, the Nigerian DSS has refused to allow anyone to see her, they have denied both the lawyers and parents from visiting her at the headquarter DSS Abuja where she was transferred to.

“According to DSS after their investigations on 22 February 2022, they said the offence of my daughter was that she wore a Biafra color during her birthday, and that she also agitate Biafra Freedom through her social media Facebook page.
“Latest updates and confirmation from the lawyer advocating for the enforcement of her Fundamental Rights was that, my daughter is no more in DSS headquarter Abuja, that she has been transferred to Wawa military detention facility in Kainji, Niger state.
“Her continuous detention is absolutely Illegal and refusal to charge her to court is an absolute and gross violation of her fundamental rights as a human. Every one has the right for self-determination which is universal law.”
