FAW Nigeria Unveils Luxury Electric Vehicle Lineup at Lekki Avana Phase 2 Launch, Signalling New Era in Green Mobility

In a landmark moment for Nigeria’s automotive and real estate industries, FAW Nigeria unveiled its latest lineup of luxury electric vehicles (EVs) at the high-profile launch of Lekki Avana Phase 2. The event, held in Lekki, Lagos, showcased cutting-edge advancements in sustainable transportation, drawing a crowd of government dignitaries, traditional leaders, real estate stakeholders, and celebrities, including football icon Kanu Nwankwo.

Representing the Lagos State Governor, Director of Lands and Housing Development ESV Collins Olushina Alabi praised the initiative, calling it “a major milestone for Lagosians and Nigerians at large” in the journey toward cleaner, more sustainable cities.

EV Highlights: Innovation Meets Style and Sustainability

Among the stars of the unveiling was the FAW Mini EV—a compact, urban-centric vehicle that merges style and practicality. With a maximum power of 20kW, the Mini EV features a modern three-door design with seating for four, and a distinctive gaming-controller-inspired interior.

Safety features include automatic emergency braking, ABS, tire pressure monitoring, and a high-strength cage body. The vehicle offers a range of 220 kilometers per charge and a top speed of 100 km/h, making it ideal for Nigeria’s fast-growing urban centers.

Also on display was the more powerful FAW MVP EV, designed for longer commutes and enhanced driving comfort.

Equipped with a 53kW motor and 120kW peak power, the MVP EV boasts 85Nm of torque, fast charging in just 60 minutes, and an array of premium features including dual airbags, LED lighting, a 10” LCD infotainment system, leather seats, and advanced driver-assistance technologies like Brake Assist, Traction Control (TCS), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

A Commitment to Green Mobility

FAW Nigeria emphasized that its EV rollout is not just about new vehicles—but a vision for the future. Speaking at the event, Debanjan Paul, Sales Representative for FAW Nigeria, noted:

“The unveiling of these luxury EVs marks a significant step in driving Nigeria’s green mobility revolution. With their blend of style, safety, and cutting-edge technology, FAW’s electric cars are designed to redefine the driving experience while contributing to a cleaner environment.”

The event buzzed with excitement as guests interacted with the vehicles up close, experiencing firsthand the sophistication and innovation behind FAW’s new fleet.

Driving Toward a Greener Future

As Nigeria seeks to reduce its carbon footprint and embrace renewable energy, FAW Nigeria’s electric vehicle launch sends a clear message: the future of transportation is electric, luxurious, and sustainable. The introduction of these EVs represents not just technological progress, but also a bold commitment to environmental responsibility and urban innovation.

With the synergy between real estate development and green transportation on display at Lekki Avana Phase 2, the event marked a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s journey toward smart, eco-friendly living.
