FCT Police Debunk Viral Video Claiming Officers Blocked Bauchi Governor at PDP Secretariat
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed a viral social media video alleging that its officers obstructed the Governor of Bauchi State and engaged in a confrontation at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
In a statement on Tuesday night, the Command described the circulating footage as false and misleading, stressing that it does not reflect the true situation at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat.
According to FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the entrance to the party headquarters became briefly congested, prompting officers to step in and restore order.

She explained that the officers were dispersing private security personnel and bouncers who were obstructing the governor’s movement to ensure smooth and safe access ahead of scheduled PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings.
“At no time were police officers involved in any scuffle, nor did they block the Governor, as falsely portrayed in the circulating video,” the statement emphasized.
FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, urged media houses and social media users to verify information before publication, warning that spreading unverified or sensational content could mislead the public and create unnecessary tension in the FCT.
The Command called on the public to disregard the misleading video and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and supporting lawful activities across the territory.
