Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of his Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Sunday Kotor.

The governor described Kotor’s passing as a painful loss not only to the Delta State Government but also to the people of the state, noting that the deceased was a loyal and committed aide who served with diligence.

Sunday Kotor, a seasoned Master of Ceremonies and dedicated protocol officer, reportedly slumped and died after collapsing at a private event on Friday evening.

An improvised explosive device (IED) explosion has left a soldier and a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps injured in Orsu Local Government Area, raising fresh concerns over security in the South-East region.

Sources said the incident occurred during a routine security patrol in the area, which has witnessed sporadic attacks and violent incidents in recent times. The victims, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, were reportedly part of a joint security team working to maintain peace and stability in the locality.
