FG Delivers Three Major Kaduna Road Projects Under Emergency Intervention Scheme

The Federal Government (FG) has commissioned three major road projects in Kaduna State under its emergency intervention scheme, aimed at improving transportation, boosting economic activities, and enhancing road safety across the region.

The projects include the Sabi Rail Bridge–Command Junction stretch of the Western Bypass in Chukun LGA, the 1.2‑kilometre Mahuta NNPC Pipeline to Nigerian Army Post Service Housing road, and the 4.5‑kilometre Taban Sani Road along the busy Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano highway in Markarfi LGA. Each of the roads was completed with high-quality construction standards and with involvement from local contractors.

Officials from the Federal Ministry of Works highlighted the strategic importance of the projects, saying they will facilitate smoother traffic flow, improve access to markets, and strengthen connectivity within Kaduna State and beyond. The ministry also emphasized that these interventions are part of the government’s broader plan to deliver 260 emergency and ecological road projects nationwide, targeting critical infrastructure gaps.

The commissioning aligns with other federal initiatives to address deteriorating road networks across Nigeria. Similar emergency road projects have been fast-tracked on corridors such as the Suleja–Minna Road and stretches of the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway, reflecting the FG’s commitment to timely delivery, transparency, and road safety under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Local stakeholders have praised the FG for accelerating infrastructure development and ensuring the completion of these projects, describing them as transformative for socio-economic activities in Kaduna State.
