Niger State Varsity Student Allegedly Commits Suicide Over House Rent Dispute
A student of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai in Niger State has reportedly committed suicide following a house rent dispute, authorities and eyewitnesses have confirmed. The deceased, a 300-level student, is said to have been involved in managing lodgers’ rent and allegedly fell into financial difficulties that contributed to the tragic incident.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the dispute with the landlord, combined with personal financial challenges, may have pushed the student to take his own life. A handwritten note was reportedly discovered at the scene, prompting law enforcement to launch a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
