FG to Arraign 28 Suspects Over Benue Massacre in Court Today
The Federal Government (FG) has announced plans to arraign 28 suspects arrested in connection with the Benue massacre on Monday, marking a major step toward prosecuting those responsible for the deadly attack that shook the state.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned before a competent court of law, where they will face charges including culpable homicide, conspiracy, terrorism-related offences, and unlawful possession of firearms. Government officials said the prosecution underscores the FG’s determination to end impunity and ensure justice for victims of mass killings.
The Federal Government noted that investigations are still ongoing, adding that more arrests may be made as security agencies continue to track other individuals linked to the attack. Authorities stressed that the case would be handled thoroughly to avoid delays and ensure a credible judicial process.
Reassuring residents, the FG said it remains committed to restoring peace and security in Benue State, with reinforced security deployments in volatile areas to prevent further violence and protect lives and property.
The Benue massacre has intensified public calls for swift prosecution, stronger security measures, and accountability, as communities demand lasting solutions to recurring violence in the North-Central region.
