Fire has gutted a section of the Kogi State House of Assembly complex in Lokoja.
The incident occurred on Monday morning — but the cause of the inferno has yet to be ascertained.
The Director of the Kogi Fire Service, Salau Ozigi, said the fire did not extend beyond the chamber and gallery of the assembly complex.
The fire incident started at about 8 am on Monday.
The Speaker of the House, Prince Mathew Kolawole, while speaking to journalists at the assembly complex said the house will allow security agencies to investigate the incident.
He, however, said this would not stop the assembly from performing its duty as the resolution of the house concerning Dangote Cement Plc stands.
