Five suspects arrested in Lagos for selling two-month-old baby

One Peter Udoh, a pastor, has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command for buying a two-month-old baby for N500,000 and reselling the baby for N1,450,000.

According to the spokesperson of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, the mother of the baby had reported at Oko-oba Division that the baby was missing

The baby’s mother informed the police that one Gloria Sunday, on July 11, 2024, ran away with her son to an unknown destination.

Following this report, Hundeyin said detectives swung into action, which resulted in the arrest of Sunday who during interrogation confessed to selling the baby for N500,000 to Udoh.

Subsequently, the police spokesperson said Udoh was arrested in Ikene, Ogun State, and confessed to reselling the baby for N1,450,000 to one Loretta Nelson who was also arrested in Festac Town.

Nelson admitted reselling the baby for N2,350,000 to Mr. and Mrs. James Uwam, who were apprehended during the naming ceremony of the stolen child.
