Four arrested in Ondo with trailers loaded with stolen transformers, cables
Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in the Ondo State Command have arrested four suspected vandals allegedly transporting telecommunication wires, cables and electric transformers from Kano to Lagos.
Mogaji Ibrahim, 40, Umaru Adamu, 32, Abba Muhazu, 19, and Adamu Idris, 25, were apprehended at old Ore Toll Gate, on the Lagos expressway, in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson for the NSCDC in the state, Daniel Aidamenbor, said the suspects were intercepted following a credible intelligence on their operations.

“They were apprehended while transporting vandalised telecommunication wires, BEDC equipment such as transformer parts, high tension cables, copper and armoured cables, and other cut-to-size metal objects from Kano to Lagos,” Aidamenbor said.
According to him, the exhibits being transported by the suspects have been recovered and secured as evidence.
He added that the suspects are also in custody, and the command had begun investigations to unravel their sponsors and other syndicates who might be behind their crime.
The NSCDC spokesman reiterated the command’s effort at fighting ‘economic saboteurs’, who are in the crime business of targeting critical national assets and infrastructures of government across the country.
