FRSC diverts traffic at Berger end of Lagos-Ibadan expressway
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced a fresh diversion of traffic at the Berger end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
It said this in a statement on Sunday night, attributing it to the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction work on the highway.
According to the statement issued by the FRSC Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, the traffic has been diverted from linking the expressway at the New Garage inward Lagos.
The statement read in part, “Traffic from Isheri Olowora passing through River Valley Estate to link the expressway inward Lagos has been diverted to pass through Babcock College, opposite Enyo filling station to link the expressway and drive into Lagos.
“Alternatively, they could pass through Ojodu and make a U-turn in front of FRSC Ojodu to link the expressways at BRT Bus-Stop.”
It said the FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, had directed all FRSC commands along the corridor to ensure stress-free movement along the corridor.
The 127.6km Lagos-Ibadan expressway project was meant to be completed before the exit of the Muhammadu Buhari administration last month.
It’s delivery date was again shifted due to difficulties encountered at the Berger-Alausa end of the work.
The expressway is the major route to the northern, southern and eastern parts of Nigeria.
It is the busiest inter-state route in the country, handling over 250,000 vehicles daily.
