Ghizlane Chebbak Wins 2025 CAF Women’s Player of the Year After WAFCON Golden Boot Triumph
Morocco’s Ghizlane Chebbak has been named the CAF Women’s Player of the Year 2025, capping a remarkable season for the 35-year-old forward. She received the prestigious award at the CAF Awards ceremony held in Rabat on November 19.
Chebbak claimed the honour ahead of Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade and fellow Moroccan Sanaa Mssoudy, reflecting her dominance in African women’s football.

Her stellar performances at WAFCON 2024 were pivotal. Chebbak won the Golden Boot with five goals, earned a spot in the Team of the Tournament, and helped Morocco reach the final, where they narrowly lost 3–2 to Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
Beyond WAFCON, Chebbak’s consistency and leadership earned her inclusion in the FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11, cementing her status as one of Africa’s top female footballers.
With this award, Ghizlane Chebbak further strengthens her legacy in women’s football, combining experience, goalscoring prowess, and continental recognition.
