Gunmen kill ex-Enugu commissioner, brother

A former Commissioner for Rural Development in Enugu State, Gab Onuzulike, and his elder brother, have been reportedly killed.

The Nation learnt that they were shot dead yesterday evening by unknown gunmen at Nkpokolo Achi area of the state  while returning from a burial ceremony.

The late Onuzulike was also a two-term chairman of Oji-river Local Government Council of Enugu State.

Unconfirmed report said  that a team of security agents gave the assailants a hot  chase and  neutralized one of them.  One other gunman was said to have been arrested.

Efforts to speak with the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe Ekea, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls to his mobile line.
