Two inspectors gunned down in Anambra, police station, vehicles burnt

Gunmen on Thursday attacked another police station in the South-East, killing two inspectors of the Obosi Police Station in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

They also set on fire the station and two operational vehicles.

Spokesman for the Anambra Police command, Ikenga Tochukwu, said the two died during a gun duel with the attackers.

“During the gun duel, two police operatives paid the supreme price,” he stated.

He also confirmed two operational vehicles of the command were burnt with sections of the building.

Tochukwu said the new Commissioner of Police, Chris Owolabi, had ordered a crack team to apprehend the perpetrators.

He said the police crack team, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operations, had visited the scene to carry out an on-the-spot assessment of the incident.
