Properties belonging to some Imo State government officials have been set on fire.
The house of Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General Chief Cyprian Akaolisa and those of his aged father were burnt by hoodlums on Saturday night at his home town at Obibi Awo, demili in Orsu Local Government Area of the state.
This is second time Chief Akaolisa’s house was burnt. A number of houses belonging to government officials whose properties are in Orlu, Oru East, Orsu axis have been destroyed in the last 12 months.
This is creating panic in the state as people now live in fear.

Last year, the house of the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Declan Emelumba was razed down; Orsu council secretariat was completely also burnt, as was the house of the Commissioner, Imo State Ministry of Labour, Employment and Productivity, Chief Prince Ford Ozumba.
Likewise, the house of Ekene Nnodumele, the member representing Orsu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly has been torched.
The houses of other political leaders like Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide President General, Prof. George Obiozor have also been razed.
Chief Akaolisa lamented the burning of his house and the killings, arson and destruction in Igbo land.
Police spokesman Michael Abattam confirmed the burning of Chief Akaolisa’s house, adding that the incident was being investigated.
