Imo Police Launch Manhunt for Suspects in Assault of Woman Who Aided Investigation
OWERRI — The Imo State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for six individuals accused of assaulting a 55-year-old woman, Mrs. Agu Ndidiamaka, allegedly in retaliation for her cooperation with law enforcement during an ongoing investigation.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, Mr. Henry Okoye, the police confirmed that the attack was captured in a viral video showing the woman being brutalised by a group of men in Umuakaliukwu Kindred, Uboegbelu, Azaraubo, Emekuku.
Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, the Command’s X-Squad Unit has commenced efforts to apprehend the suspects and ensure they face justice.

Preliminary findings have identified the suspects as Osuji Chiazor, Agu Azubike, Njoku Onyedikachi, Njoku Eugene, Njoku Dikachi, Njoku Emmanuel, and Iwuala Chukwuma.
The assault is believed to have been motivated by the victim’s decision to assist police officers who had earlier visited the community in connection with an investigation.
Okoye emphasized that the Command is intensifying efforts to track down the suspects, who will be charged to court upon arrest.
Condemning the incident, CP Danjuma described the attack as “barbaric, inhuman, and totally unacceptable,” and warned that the Command would not tolerate acts of jungle justice or intimidation against citizens who lawfully support police operations.
He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to protecting whistleblowers and ensuring that justice prevails in all cases of abuse and unlawful conduct.
