INEC Declares ‘Eleyi’, Dapo Abiodun winner of Ogun Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission has on Sunday declared the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, winner of the governorship poll that took place on Saturday.
While Abiodun scored 276,298 votes, his closest rival, Ladi Adebutu, scored 262,383 votes. Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Biyi Otegbeye, also scored a total of 94,754.
Otegbeye had the backing of the former Governor of Ogun, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
The announcement was made by the Chief Returning Officer, Prof Kayode Adebowale.
