JAMB Begins 2026 UTME Registration With Live Monitoring System

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially opened registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), deploying live monitoring systems to ensure transparency and curb malpractice. The announcement was made in Abuja by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, who provided guidelines and cost details for candidates, with special emphasis on faith-based and private institutions.

Prof. Oloyede urged all prospective candidates to register at JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide from January 26 to February 28, 2026, stressing that all centres would be monitored live from Abuja to guarantee compliance and prevent fraud.

Guidelines for Faith-Based and Private Institutions

Prof. Oloyede directed faith-based schools to clearly declare their religious orientation from the outset. He warned that institutions that pretend to be secular but enforce religious rules post-admission are engaging in deceptive practices, which could create challenges for admitted students.

He also reiterated that candidates’ biodata must match the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) records, and any inconsistencies could lead to disqualification. These measures ensure fairness and transparency for all candidates, including those from faith-based institutions.

Cost Implications

The registrar outlined the registration fees for candidates as follows:

  • UTME Registration Form: ₦7,500

  • UTME Registration with Mock Exam: ₦9,000

  • Direct Entry (DE) Form: ₦7,500

  • DE with Mock Exam: ₦9,000

Candidates are advised to purchase forms only from accredited CBT centres and avoid unverified agents to prevent invalidation or fraud.

Registration and Examination Timeline

  • UTME Registration: January 26 – February 28, 2026

  • Direct Entry (DE) Registration: March 2 – April 25, 2026

  • UTME Examination: April 16 – April 25, 2026

  • Optional Mock Test: March 28, 2026

Prof. Oloyede emphasised that JAMB remains committed to a credible, inclusive, and transparent examination process to benefit all Nigerian students, including those attending faith-based institutions.
