Just in: Bandits kidnap fresh 30 persons as IGP visits Kaduna
While concerted efforts are being made to rescue about 300 residents abducted in Kuriga and Goni Gora areas of Chikun local government area of Kaduna State, the bandits terrorising the state stepped up their game between Monday night and Tuesday morning and allegedly abducted another 30 persons in Buda village, Kajuru local government area of the state.
A source, who spoke in confidence, hinted that the kidnappers came in their usual commando style with sophisticated weapons and operated for hours unchallenged.
Lately, the state is becoming a hotbed of kidnapping and other sophisticated crimes most of which are underreported due to fear of the unknown.
According to the source, “a lot of criminal activities have been happening in Kajuru in recent times but leaders of the affected communities are afraid of coming to the press due to lack of security of their lives and that of their subjects.

“As we speak, we still have a lot of our people in the kidnappers’ den before this latest attack. We have not heard from them since”.
Kajuru, Chikun, Birnin Gwari, and Giwa share vast ‘ungoverned’ boundaries thereby raising suspicion that the bandits terrorising these four local government areas share something in common.
Coincidentally, the latest episode in Kajuru was coming ahead of the scheduled official visit of the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to the State.
As of the time of filing this report, both the Kaduna State Police Command and the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs have yet to make an official statement on the development.
