Just in: Many residents burnt to death in Lagos explosion
Another fatal explosion has rocked a location in Lagos State with some casualties recorded.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed another gas explosion within the state. Confirming the incident, State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin stated, “It is just a week and we have recorded another gas explosion at a gas retail shop, this time in Ibeju-Lekki.”

Expressing regret over the event, Hundeyin added, “Sadly, two persons died, three persons sustained injuries and four shops got razed.”
He emphasized the importance of preventive measures, urging, “Let us prevent avoidable deaths. Let us be safety-conscious at all times.”
Lagos has recorded some explosions in the past with the state lawmakers planning to make laws to better regulate the sale of gas and where gas shops should be located.
