Hoodlums have shot dead two monarchs in Imo State, throwing the affected communities into mourning.
The traditional rulers were reportedly having a stakeholders’ meeting at Nnenasa, the headquarters of the Njaba Local Government Area of the state when the hoodlums attacked and opened fire on them, killing two of them on the spot.
The affected monarchs are Eze E. A Durueburuo, Obi I of Okwudor, and Eze Sampson Osunwa of Ihebinowere community.
It was also gathered that several other traditional rulers at the meeting left with injuries.
The police spokesperson in the state, Mike Abattam, who confirmed the incident, said that two monarchs were shot and they died on the spot while the wounded were taken to hospital for treatment.
