Kebbi Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Wife With Hoe in Bayawa
The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Suleman Mamuda, for allegedly killing his wife, Umaima Maidawa (25), in a shocking case of domestic violence in Bayawa Village, Augie Local Government Area. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday morning around 6:30 a.m., when the suspect allegedly struck his wife with the wooden handle of a hoe, causing fatal injuries.

According to Police Public Relations Officer SP Bashir Usman, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the suspect initially attempted to flee the community. He was later tracked down and arrested following community intelligence and police intervention.
The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Umar Mohammed‑Hadejia, has directed that the case be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation and prosecution. Authorities are also urging the public to support law enforcement by reporting suspicious or violent behavior promptly.
