The Kwara State Police Command has launched an investigation into a suspected arson attack at Isale Koko, Ilorin, authorities said on Saturday.

According to a statement by the police public relations officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, no lives were lost as the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, which occurred on January 1, 2026, at about 7:00 p.m. The value of the destroyed property is yet to be determined.

The incident was reported the following day at the C Division Police Station, Oja Oba, Ilorin. The complainant, Mrs. T. A. She also revealed that she had received threats in November 2025 over religious differences, as she practices traditional worship.
