The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has again sealed off 13 bars and lounges across the state over alleged persistent noise pollution and other violations.
In an X post, the agency stated that the enforcement operation conducted on Wednesday was directed by the State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab.
The post reads, “The enforcement exercise was carried out within the Lagos Island axis, covering Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Wole Olateju Crescent Lekki, and Babatunde Anjous Drive Lekki.
“Targeted establishments included lounges, restaurants, and bars. Among those shut down establishments were D.Code Lounge, Farm City, Beer Barn Sports Bar, The Mood, Kingfisher, Bolivar, Red Bar, Terraform Bar, Ebar Metro, Mabayé Lounge & Restaurant, Native Tray Restaurant & Bar, Rekoja (Fired & Ice), and Ivy Bar.”

The General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the agency’s firm stance against environmental violations, particularly noise pollution, which he emphasised poses serious risks to public health and community well-being.
“Our enforcement today is a clear message that we are committed to protecting the environment and ensuring a healthier Lagos,” Ajayi said.
He urged organisations and residents to comply with environmental laws, underscoring LASEPA’s mission to create cleaner, safer, and more sustainable city devoid of pollution.
Last week, the agency sealed 11 establishments for similar offences.
