According to Fayose, Makinde’s criticisms of the Tinubu administration — including labelling it dictatorial — were triggered by frustration over the president’s response during a recent visit. He alleged that the Oyo governor praised former President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership style while openly highlighting the perceived shortcomings of the current administration.

Makinde has previously criticised President Tinubu, stating that it has become difficult to “speak truth to power” under the present government.
