Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Wife in Ahiazu Mbaise Domestic Dispute
Operatives of the Ahiazu Mbaise Divisional Police Headquarters have arrested Vitalis Nwoko (58) of Umuagba, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, for the alleged murder of his wife, Uloma, following a domestic dispute, police confirmed.
The arrest came after a report was lodged by the deceased’s sister, who claimed that Nwoko violently assaulted his wife during a family argument. Acting swiftly, the police arrested the suspect and initiated an investigation.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Henry Okoye, stated that preliminary investigations revealed the incident occurred on December 11, 2025, when a misunderstanding between the couple escalated into a physical altercation. Uloma collapsed during the dispute and was rushed to Cecilia Hospital, Ogbe, where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Okoye added that Nwoko has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Owerri, for thorough investigation and prosecution.
The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, urged residents to report cases of domestic violence promptly, emphasizing the Command’s commitment to dealing decisively with perpetrators of such crimes.
