Man stabs 65-year-old caretaker in P’Harcourt for allegedly causing his misfortunes
PORT HARCOURT—A middle-aged man, simply identified as Nnanna, has reportedly stabbed his neighbour, Mr Monday Reuben, 65 years old, over allegations that the victim was a wizard.
The incident happened, yesterday, at 37 Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was gathered that the suspect stabbed the victim on the neck and head after accusing him of being behind his misfortunes.
Nnana fled after allegedly committing the crime and is nowhere to be found.
Reuben who is still in pain said the suspectaed had picked up a bottle and smashed it and stabbed him Tuesday night and later returned yesterday and stabbed him on the head.

He said: “I am the caretaker of 37, Okwelle Street, Mile 2 Diobu. Nnanna stabbed me. We were packing sand and I called him to shift one side that we want to pack sand. He picked offence and said why did I call him, that ‘don’t I know I am a witch? And that he was bearing gudge against me and that he will kill me and run away.
“He went and carried bottle and broke it, he came and stabbed me. He stabbed me on the neck Tuesday night. This earlier morning, he barged into my house and stabbed me on the head.
“I am 65years old. I want the Police and security to arrest him and ask him what I did. I have reported to Azikiwe Police Division.”
At press time, Spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, has not responded to the development, but the victim, said he had reported to the Azikiwe Police Division, where he was issued a doctor’s report.
