Many Travelers Abducted As Bandits Block Kaduna-Abuja Highway

Bandits on Tuesday evening returned to the Abuja-Kaduna highway and abducted scores of passengers in an operation that lasted almost an hour.

Daily Trust gathered that the bandits blocked the highway between Kurnmin Kare and Katari in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted passengers from commercial and private vehicles.

The incident occurred just days after a youth corps member traveling on the highway was killed in a cross fire between bandits and security agents.

Sources from Katari told Daily Trust that the incident occurred around 4pm, adding that the bandits had in the early hours of Tuesday invaded Katari town where they also abducted 16 people.

It was gathered that security agents had been deployed to the section of the road after the bandits escaped with several passengers.

Kaduna State Police Command, through the Police Public Relations Office, ASP Mohammed Jalige said he is yet to receive any confirmation from the commander in charge of the area.

The about 155km Kaduna-Abuja highway has witnessed several attacks by bandits who block the road to kill and abduct passengers.

The road was, however, said to have been fortified by security agents following the March 28th attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train which resulted in the killing of nine people and abduction of over 60 passengers.

Student who criticised Aisha Buhari sent to prison

Aminu Adamu and Aisha Buhari

Aminu Adamu, the student of the Federal University, Dutse, who was arrested after criticising First Lady Aisha Buhari, on Twitter, has been remanded at Suleja Prison  in Niger State.

Back in June, the student had tweeted, “Su mama Anchi Kudin Talakawa an koshi”, meaning “Mama has fed fat on poor people’s money”.

Months after, security operatives arrested and whisked him to the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he was beaten and tortured, according to his uncle.

The student was subsequently arraigned at a court in Abuja, where he was denied bail despite pleading not guilty to the charges filed against him.

Speaking with BBC Hausa, CK Agu, his lawyer, said, “Even in the court session yesterday, we notified the judge about the efforts made to have him released on bail, but we did not receive any reply from the police. We applied to the court to release the student on bail on health grounds and the fact that he will sit for the exam on 5, December. The court has ordered the police to provide the bail application before it for consideration between Tuesday and Wednesday,” Mr Agu was quoted to have said.

Aminu, who hails from Azare in Bauchi state, is a final-year student of the Department of Environmental Management at Federal University, Dutse.

His arrest had sparked outrage, especially on social media, where many Nigerians said no one should be arrested for airing their views.

Aminu’s parents have tendered apology to the First Lady and demanded his release. Aisha Buhari is yet to comment on the development.

Yahoo Boy Lands in Jail, Loses N24.3m Cash, Three Exotic Cars in Ilorin

Yusuf Olarewaju

Justice Adebayo Yusuf of  Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin, yesterday, jailed 30-year-old Yusuf Olarewaju, a native of Erin-Ile in Oyun Local Council of the state for  offences bordering on internet fraud.

Olarewaju, found guilty of one-count charge brought against him by Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was sentenced to six months imprisonment with option of N200,000 fine.
The court also ordered the forfeiture of all instruments used by the convict to perpetuate the crime, including the cash found to be proceeds of crime in his account to the Federal Government.
Other items forfeited include: a Mercedes Benz GLK 2010 model, a Toyota Camry 2013 model; a Toyota Corolla 2005 model, iPhone 14 promax and the sum of N24, 364,860.
Olarewaju’s journey to jail started on October 23, 2022, when he was arrested following intelligence about the activities of syndicates of fraudsters operating in Erin-Ile and its neighbourhood.

Investigation revealed that Olarewaju, while using a fraudulent email, posed as one Smith Katie, a white female from Missouri, USA, to strike relationships with one James Gibson (Jimmy) and Stephen Speer, both of whom he swindled to the tune of $30,000 USD between 2021 and 2022.

The defendant not only confessed to the crime, but also pleaded guilty when he was arraigned on November 11, 2022. At the resumed sitting of the case on Monday, Justice Yusuf said he had carefully evaluated the facts of the case; the guilty plea entered by the defendant; the extra-judicial statement of the defendant as well as the exhibits tendered in evidence and was convinced that there were justifiable reasons to convict the defendant.
Consequently, the judge pronounced him guilty.
In his plea of allocutus, Olarewaju’s counsel, M. A Bello urged the court to temper justice with mercy. He said that the convict had left “yahoo business” since January 2022, and that the cars recovered from him were intended to start up a car business.
However, Innocent Mbachie, counsel to the EFCC,  urged the court to, in addition to sentencing the convict, order the  forfeiture of  all the instrumentality of the crime, including the cars, cash and phone to the Federal Government as deterrent to others of Olarewaju’s like.
Justice Yusuf, while sentencing the convict, said he found merit in the prosecution’s case, adding that the defence’s plea that, “the convict had left “yahoo business” since January 2022, and that the cars recovered from him were intended to start up car business” were not sufficient to set him free of the deserved punishment.

IPOB questions US over silence on Nnamdi Kanu’s rendition from Kenya

Leader of Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra has questioned what it termed the silence of the United States of America over the rendition of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from Kenya to Nigeria.

The query was contained in a statement by the IPOB Secretary of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, on Monday.

The statement reads in full:

We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Okwu KANU have a burning question to ask the world community. Why is the righteous minded global conscience of both poor and rich nations, The United States of America so loudly silent in the matter of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? Their silence in this case of great concern to over seventy million Biafrans is deafening!

We know through history that it was the United States of America who acted as the world’s conscience to challenge some European countries after the World wars and compelled them to let their colonized African nations goes with flags independence from 1950s. The contraption known as Nigeria is one of such countries that gained their false independence during that Era. Dear USA, we the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) call upon you today to complete the work you started then.

African nations are still trapped in false amalgamation that were not Germain to our ethnic makeups. In the case of Nigeria, the colonial masters are still using their influence to oppress the Indigenous nations. One such situation that has caused us to rise up and cry out. Nigeria is polluting our land through oil exploration and extraction and when we ask them to clean it up, they kill our people, raze down our communities,  bribe our leaders and few politicians place other heavy burdens of oppression on us in other to shut us up.

As if all the oppression is not enough, the Fulani terrorist herdsmen has entered Nigeria with a jihad agenda that has been supported by the Nigerian Fulani politicians. This Fulanized Nigeria government has extraordinarily renditioned the leader of The Indigenous People of Biafra,  Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria. Mazi Nnamdi KANU is not a Nigeria citizen but has for along time taken up British citizenship.

But our questions to United States Of American government and the world most powerful Nations in the world and the Police of the free world are as follows;

  1. Why did US Government keep mute during the Biafra genocidal war by the Nigerian Government with support from the Britain and her allies where over 5 million innocent Biafran lives were wasted between 1967 to 1970  and till date?
  2. Why the US Government  kept mute in the face of extraordinary rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Nigeria Government in violation of  international law and protocols? While still keeping him in their detention facilities.
  3. Why the US Government still kept mute in the face of continue illegal detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigeria Government and even after competent Courts in Nigeria (Abuja Appeal Court and Umuahia High Court) pronounced him discharged and acquitted since 13th October 2022 and October 27, 2022 respectively and thereby violating his human and fundamental rights?
  4. Why is the US Government still keeping mute and not prevail on Nigerian Government to start the process of referendum for Biafra People to determine  decide to remain or go on their separate way based on self determination principles?
  5. What is the US Government benefiting from the very corrupt and corruption ravaged Nigeria Governance system that warrant their long silence on the ongoing genocides against Biafrans and total disregard to international laws and protocols in the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu?

African and the gulf of Guinea and by extension the world will not know peace until the question of Biafra, Nigeria forced amalgamation and artificial borders created by colonial masters are addressed.

America Government, a supposed world upholder of democracy and human right protector, and a global Police, the world is watching you.

American Government must rise up and do the needful and redeem their image and integrity of the global world.

Nigeria has held Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in a special jail situation in their Directorate of State Services DSS in their solitary confinement for over sixteen months. They have denied our leader his proper medication, his prayer parafinilia, and even food during his illegal detention. Appeal Court of Nigeria in Abuja,  Nigeria has heard his case and duly  acquitted and discharged our leader,  Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from all charges against him in the Nigeria court system, but until today,  Nigeria is still holding Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in DSS solitary confinement in violation of order of the court.

IPOB needs the help and intervention of the United States of America in gaining his release and calling for a free and fair referendum supervised by the United Nations to determine if Biafra should again be restored as a sovereign independent state among league of nations.

America government led by Joe Biden , the global world are looking upon you, does it mean American embassy in Abuja is not giving accurate information of what Biafrans are suffering in the hands of this contraption packaged together by Britain in 1914.
