MC Oluomo: Lagos #EndSARS protesters boo Fuji artiste, Pasuma

Popular Fuji artiste, Alhaji Wasiu Pasuma, got a raw deal from #EndSARS protesters at the protest ground in Alausa, Ikeja, the Lagos State capital, on Sunday.

The musician who was at the venue of the protest with his associates and bodyguards was said to have been booed because of his reported closeness to the leader of the Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo.

Oluomo was accused of sponsoring last Thursday’s attack on protesters at the Alausa protest ground.

The attack led to many protesters being injured and several vehicles were destroyed.

The protesters expressed surprise why Pasuma had to come to Alausa venue of the protest.

The musician was ferried out of the area to safety by his bodyguards.

Meanwhile, the protesters continued their peaceful protests with praise and worship service outside the Lagos State Government House, Alausa, Ikeja.

This was done simultaneously in Lekki, Abuja and other major cities where the protests are taking place.

Last Friday, the Muslims among the protesters observed their Juma’at service.

The Alausa protesters were provided a sumptuous meal of Amala with Gbegiri (bean soup) and Ewedu by a couple artistes, Tunde and Wunmi Obe.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old was on Saturday arrested and handed over to the police by the protesters at Lekki for stealing a phone.

The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed this on Sunday, said the suspect came from the Ojuelegba area of Lagos.

The protesters reportedly descended on him and gave him thorough beating before they agreed to hand him over to the police at Maroko Police Station.

Although the stolen phone has not been recovered as the suspect reportedly passed on the phone to his fleeing gang members, the police said they would track down his gang members.

The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, said that this incident was a clear indication that the protests had been hijacked by some hoodlums hiding under the #Endsars# protests to steal, loot and cause damage to people’s property.

He urged the protesters to be watchful of those who had infiltrated them with the intention to cause pains to innocent Lagosians.
