Media Icon, Anti-Drug Advocate, Otunba Orioye, Bags Top Honour at Transquest Anniversary
Transquest Media Group has announced plans to honour veteran broadcaster and community advocate, Otunba Olufemi Orioye, for his outstanding contributions to the media profession and his leadership within the wider society.
The recognition forms part of activities marking the organisation’s 20th anniversary, slated for December 6, 2025, at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
In a statement jointly signed by the Managing Director and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Mr. Felix O. Kumuyi, and the Board Chairman, Chief Olufemi Ogunsusi, the group described Otunba Orioye—Convener of the Network Against Drug Abuse and Cultism (NADAC)—as a media professional whose career has been defined by excellence, integrity and unwavering commitment.
According to the statement, Otunba Orioye, a seasoned broadcaster with the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Abeokuta, has distinguished himself through years of dedicated service, winning several honours including the Merit Award for Outstanding Media Practice.

“Most importantly, we recognise his landmark achievements at various levels of media leadership where he consistently delivered impactful performance, earning the admiration of colleagues and elevating the profession,” the statement added.
Events marking the anniversary will also include a one-day transport seminar/Quest Awardees’ programme, themed “Attaining Africa’s Trade/Maritime Hub: Leveraging Nigeria’s Maritime Potentials to Drive Economic Growth.”
The seminar will be chaired by Professor Bamidele Badejo, while Professor Iyiola Oni of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) will deliver the keynote lecture.
Kumuyi and Ogunsusi explained that this year’s programme had been specially curated to feature a symposium and group discussion involving prominent industry experts and CEOs of key agencies.
The engagement, they said, aimed to stimulate fresh insights that could help reposition Nigeria’s maritime sector for greater economic impact.
