Nigerian Military Troops
The military operatives of Operation Hadarin Daji, (OPHD) operating in Zamfara State has declared that its troops have killed scores of bandits that attacked a military base in Faru village of Maradun Local Government Area of the State.
According to a resident of Faru community, who spoke to DAILY POST in a telephone interview, the terrorists in their numbers stormed the community through Magamin-Diddi and Janbako communities to attack the military camp.
The source noted that the troops promptly engaged them in a fire for fire operation, saying that the gun battle made the bandits to withdraw with many sustaining degrees of injuries.
He further stated that two abnormal persons who were passing by were killed by stray bullets from the terrorists.

Meanwhile, gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked four villages in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the State, kidnapping nine persons from Dan-Zamau, twelve from Gargaji and six from Maikulki communities.
Eyewitness accounts from the area said that while trying to escape from the bandits, two canoes ferrying villagers capsized. Many people, including children were killed, with several others missing.
The source noted that the bandits opened fire on the canoes which forced the operators to jump out and escape, leaving the canoes with no control.
However, all efforts to speak with the State Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu proved abortive.
