Mob kills Edo man who reportedly murdered brother over inheritance
In Edo State, a man simply identified as Odion has allegedly killed his elder brother over family feud bordering on inheritance.
The incident happened at the Iyekhe community in Auchi, the administrative headquarters of Etsako West LGA.
The suspect reportedly shot dead his elder brother identified as Braimah Rasheed amid a row over their late father’s property .
It’s gathered that Odion had threatened to take Braimah’s life following disagreements over the issue.
Source said the suspect’s younger brother, who travelled to Italy, committed an offence and was jailed and had been accusing his brother of not doing enough to get him released.
The source said Odion had demanded that his elder brother sell their late father’s house and use the money to fight for the release of their jailed brother in Italy.

The deceased said to be a lecturer at the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, ignored Odion’s demand.
Infuriated by his brother refusal to accede to his demand, Odion allegedly ambushed his elder brother while returning home from a relative’s burial and shot him in the head.
He was said to have died on the spot.
It was gathered that after killing his brother, he attempted to flee the scene but was immediately apprehended by a mob, who beat and set him on fire.
It was also learnt that the deceased had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Yamu, said he would get back to the reporter but did not up till the time of filing the report yesterday.
