Names of 239 primary, 14 secondary schoolchildren, 12 teachers abducted from Niger school released

The scale of the horror unfolding in Niger State became clearer on Monday as the Catholic Diocese of Kontagora released the full list of victims abducted during the brutal raid on St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area.

The document paints a grim picture: 265 people—most of them young children—were snatched in the attack.

The list includes 239 primary schoolpupils, 14 secondary school students, and 12 teachers, confirming one of the largest mass school abductions in recent years.

The publication of the names has heightened pressure on authorities to act swiftly as families wait in anguish for news of their loved ones.
