Nasarawa Police Rescue Four Children Abducted in Karu
LAFIA — The Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued four children abducted in Karu Local Government Area (LGA) on December 31, 2025, following a discreet, intelligence-led operation.
In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Ramhan Nansel, the police said the children were recovered unhurt after detectives traced the suspects’ hideout through credible intelligence.
“The children went missing on December 31, 2025, in Karu LGA, prompting the police to launch an investigation. Acting on credible intelligence, detectives from the Nasarawa State Police Command and the FCT Police Command traced the suspects’ hideout and recovered the children unhurt,” the statement said.

Preliminary investigations, according to the police, revealed that the children were allegedly abducted by Abraham Asoje (28) and Joy Bolaje (29).
The command confirmed that the rescued children have been reunited with their families, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other suspects linked to the abduction.
The police reiterated their commitment to combating child abduction and urged members of the public to continue providing timely information to support crime-fighting efforts.
