NDLEA intercepts hard drugs hidden in baby food, others at Lagos airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it has uncovered illicit drugs hidden in powdered milk, baby food, and sound systems at Lagos airport.

Its operatives also intercepted parcels of cocaine concealed in different parts of a travel bag by a Brazil returnee.

The NDLEA said its officials at the SAHCO export shed of the Lagos airport found cans of powdered milk, baby food and beverages used to conceal 3.4 kilogrammes of cannabis package for a flight going to Dubai.

The interception, it said, led to the arrest of a freight agent, Ewelike Chibuike Cyril, who presented the consignment for export.

Spokesperson for the agency, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, December 11, the said the cocaine brought into the country by the Brazil returnee, Nwadinobi Charles Uchemadu, came from Sao Paulo, Brazil, via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight.
