Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested over 100 suspects, including popular Lagos socialite and club owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, during a midnight raid on Proxy Night Club in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, targeted the club located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, where a suspected drug-fueled party was reportedly underway.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said the raid followed credible intelligence and was executed by operatives embedded at the party from 11pm on Saturday. The gathering was disrupted at about 3am on Sunday in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures.
“Cartons of illicit substances including Loud (a potent strain of cannabis), laughing gas, and other narcotics were recovered from the venue and the club’s storage area,” Babafemi revealed.
