NDLEA seizes 384kg of loud, others from Lagos drug party
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has issued a stern warning to nightclub operators and fun-seekers over the rising trend of drug parties, describing the practice as illegal and a threat to public health and safety.
The warning follows a recent raid carried out by NDLEA operatives at Proxy Night Club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. The operation, which took place between October 25 and the early hours of October 26, 2025, led to the arrest of over 100 individuals, including the club’s alleged owner, Mike Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, and his manager, Joachin Millary.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, said the agency views any gathering organised for the consumption, distribution, or abuse of illicit substances as a criminal act under Nigerian law.

“These ‘drug parties’ contravene the explicit provisions of the NDLEA Act and will be treated as serious narcotic offences,” Babafemi stated.
He condemned the organisers of the Proxy Night Club event for openly circulating flyers to promote the gathering, describing it as incitement to commit crime and a challenge to law enforcement.
Babafemi expressed concern over the growing prevalence of drug abuse in Nigeria, particularly among young people, noting that such parties serve as breeding grounds for addiction and undermine national efforts to combat the drug menace.
“In the recent case, the NDLEA was meticulous and professional throughout the processes leading to the raid and during the operation,” he added.
The agency urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug abuse, while reiterating its commitment to safeguarding public health and enforcing the law.
