The Federal Government of Nigeria has released ₦3 billion to support the Super Eagles’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign in Morocco, as the team prepares for their Round of 16 clash against Mozambique.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that additional funds are expected to cover rising tournament expenses, ensuring players and officials are fully equipped for the knockout stages. Each player is set to receive $30,000 for reaching the Round of 16, with extra bonuses promised should they defeat Mozambique at the Complexe Sportif de Fès on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Coach Eric Chelle’s squad topped Group C and now looks forward to a potential quarter-final clash with either Algeria or the Democratic Republic of Congo, depending on upcoming results. Sources from the team camp indicate that morale is high following the government’s funding and assurances of performance-based incentives.
