Army rescues 12 teenage girls abducted by Boko Haram in Borno
The Nigerian Army has announced the successful rescue of 12 teenage girls abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Mussa District, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State. The victims, aged between 15 and 20, were kidnapped on November 23 while harvesting crops on their family farmlands.
According to a statement released late Saturday night, troops under Operation HADIN KAI conducted a swift, intelligence-driven operation on November 29, leading to the safe recovery of all 12 girls in southern Borno.

The rescued victims — identified as Fatima Shaibu (17), Fatima Umaru (15), Hauwa Abubakar (18), Saliha Muhammed (15), Sadiya Umaru (17), Amira Babel (15), Zara Adamu (17), Nana Shaibu (15), Zainab Musa (18), Zainab Muhammed (17), Jamila Saidu (15) and Hauwa Hamidu (17) — have been transferred to a secure military facility for comprehensive medical treatment, psychological support and debriefing. They will be reunited with their families upon completion of these processes.
The military high command praised the troops for their professionalism and rapid response, while also acknowledging the vital role played by local informants and security partners whose timely intelligence enabled the successful operation.
