NSCDC officer supplying drugs, ammunition to bandits dismissed

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara has terminated the employment of Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASCII) Maikano Sarkin-Tasha following allegations of collaborating with bandits to supply illegal drugs and ammunition.

During a press briefing in Gusau, the Zamfara State Commandant, Sani Mustapha, confirmed the dismissal.

He explained that the officer’s arrest came as a shock to the command, as Sarkin-Tasha was accused of involvement in criminal activities, including providing ammunition and hard drugs to bandits operating in the state.

According to Mustapha, “The officer was apprehended at a checkpoint between the Damba and Sabon Gida areas while en route to his hometown, Mada village, in Gusau Local Government Area. During the search, he was found in possession of substances suspected to be cannabis and other illegal drugs, as well as military-grade equipment, including three G3 rifle armors and an anti-rocket launcher.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reported that the Zamfara Police Command had, the day before, paraded 17 individuals suspected of aiding bandits, with Sarkin-Tasha among them.

Commandant Mustapha further stated, “The Commandant-General of the Corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi, expressed his shock and dismay over the incident. He has instructed me to ensure the immediate dismissal of the officer from the Corps.”

Mustapha emphasized that the NSCDC maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards misconduct, corruption, and criminal behavior, adding, “The actions of this officer reflect only his own character and do not represent the values or conduct of the Zamfara Command or the NSCDC as a whole.”

He also assured that the NSCDC would continue collaborating with other security agencies in the fight against crime and would not hesitate to take disciplinary action against any of its personnel found violating the law. “We will transfer the case to the Corps’ national headquarters in Abuja for further investigation and prosecution,” he said.

The NSCDC, according to Mustapha, is committed to full transparency and will keep the public informed of any developments in the case.

Bobrisky spent only three weeks in prison – Report

An investigative report by FIJ reveals that social media influencer and crossdresser, Bobrisky spent only three weeks of her or his sentence in prison and the rest in a secret location

Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, the Nigerian crossdresser popularly known as Bobrisky served only three weeks of her or his six-month sentence in prison, a report by FIJ has revealed.

The report follows the revelation on Tuesday by Martins Vincent Otse, a social media activist popularly known as VeryDarkMan of an audio in which Bobrisky was alleged to have claimed that she or he spent his or her sentence mostly out of prison and that she or he compromised operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15m to drop the ‘money laundering’ charge against him or her.

According to the FIJ report, while Bobrisky was indeed taken to Kirikiri prison in April after his or her sentence was pronounced, the news report deposes that he or she left after just three weeks.

According to the FIJ report, Bobrisky was guided like a president for the three weeks she or he spent in prison before he was moved out.

GWG.ng had also reported that Bobrisky looked very chubby after she or he came out of prison spurning reports as to whether she or he became pregnant while in custody.
‘GUARDED LIKE A PRESIDENT’

“Bob spent only three weeks here with us in Kirikiri before she was taken out to another place we don’t know,” a prison official told FIJ. “That was where she spent her time; it was an ‘arrangee thing’. And money was involved.”

The source also told FIJ how Bobrisky was “guarded like a president” until she was “secretly taken away after three weeks”.

“She received VIP treatment all through,” said the source. “She lived in a special cell. The money she said she paid is actually true; no lies. Yes, she paid the money.”

The revelations by the source are in consonance with a 2019 undercover investigation by FIJ founder ‘Fisayo Soyombo, for which he deliberately got himself detained for five days by the police and incarcerated for eight days by the prison service, discovering that it was possible to pay money to live in well-furnished apartments inside prisons, pay to bring in phones, drugs and sundry outlawed items, strike one’s name off the prison records and even live outside the prison while supposedly serving out a jail term.

Although the prison authorities did not allow Bobrisky to mingle freely with other inmates, consequently reducing the chances of her eventual disappearance being spotted, the prison official told FIJ about one noteworthy incident.

Wike mocks Fubara as Ijaw in Rivers host ex-governor

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has claimed that he is happy to have appointed an Ijaw guy as governor of Rivers State.

Speaking on Saturday at an event honouring him hosted by the Rivers Ijaw Peoples Congress in Port Harcourt, the state capital, Wike stated that God used him to elect Siminalayi Fubara as governor of the South-South state.

Wike also took the opportunity to dispute social media accusations that the Ijaw people in the state are fighting him.

He said, “Let me thank this team for this strategic meeting here today. First of all, when I was approached by Senator Johnson Nsakebor. He was sent by the Rivers Ijaw Congress that they want to honour me.

“I asked what the essence of such was. Why do you want to waste such money? I need the money. Give it to me. But he said so many people go on television and speak as if they were speaking on behalf of the Ijaw people. I said okay, I will come and let Nigerians know.

“This gathering here today is a message to those of them in Abuja who don’t understand. So if anybody tells you one day that the Ijaw people are fighting me, It is not correct. We have some ungrateful people everywhere. A father can have twelve children, and one can be an armed robber. Does that mean that the whole family are armed robbers?

“So, all these people are going to television to say Ijaw people are fighting me. Ask them; all the Ijaw people in the House of Assembly were positioned.”

Wike asserted that nobody has the monopoly of causing violence, stressing that he and his camp have chosen to play according to the rule of law.

He added, “Who has Fubara made? All the things you see are people who are envious of our growth. They couldn’t do what we are doing today. These are people who we have defeated politically several times. If the opportunity comes again, we will defeat them again.

“I have made an Ijaw man governor of Rivers State. God used us. All of us here had sleepless nights. So who loves Ijaw more? Is it people who come out on television who can not even make their Ijaw brother governor? If they had been that powerful since the old Rivers State, would Ijaw have ever become governor? Where are they?

“I have told people that nobody has a monopoly on causing violence. The mere fact that we choose to play according to the rule of law. To be calm and not to turn ourselves into where investors would run away, and that is what we will continue to do.”
